The Man Who Caught the Weather

The Man Who Caught the Weather and Other Stories (1936) Mrs. Aldrich selected 14 of her short stories to create this collection. The book opens with the short story “The Man Who Caught the Weather.” This story went out approximately 30 times to various editors before Century magazine, one of the leading magazines of the day, purchased and published it in July 1928. Aldrich’s persistence in sending out this story paid off. Not only did Century like this story, but the selection committee of the O. Henry Award chose “The Man Who Caught the Weather’ to be included in their volume of outstanding stories of 1928.
